To help manage the formatting and behaviour of external links, we've added an easily configurable set of tickbox options to Public Platform.

The options are as follows:

• Add an icon to the end of external links
• Add an icon to the end of email links
• Add an icon to image links
• Change it so icons are placed at the beginning of links
• Whether links to a subdomain should be treated as external links
• Open external links in a new window or tab
• Whether to avoid forcing specially labelled links to open in a new window or tab
• Hide your information from the destination the link takes you to
• Make search engines ignore external links
• Make specially labelled links visible to search engines
• Display a popup message if an external link is clicked

This helps with usability and allows you to get your site just the way you want it.
